Topic: Hawaiian Islands (AGAIN)

During the Enrichment adventure we will learn about the Hawaiian Islands and read High Tide in Hawaii from the Magic Tree House series. This will not be for the faint of heart! Our adventure will include volcanoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, and more. During moments of safety, we will take in the local culture and learn the history of the 50th state.

Topic: Volcanoes

The pressure is building! It's going to blow! The volcano is erupting, OH NO! We will learn how a volcano grows and what makes it erupt. We will learn about the different types of eruptions as well as the different types of lava flows. We will explore the benefits of an eruption and discover where volcanoes are located.

April's Educational Enrichment

Topic: EGGS!!

Let's learn about oviparous animals and the eggs they lay. We will discover how varied and different eggs can be.....from chicken eggs to mermaid's purses. On the last session we will have an egg drop! You will design a housing to protect a raw egg from breaking after be dropped from a high level. (The New Smyrna Beach Fire Department will be aiding us in dropping the eggs :0) Design requirements for your egg housing will be given at the first Enrichment Class.

In honor of St. Patrick's Day, let's learn about Ireland. Using Google Earth, let's visit Ireland and taste some Irish Cuisine along the way. We will also learn about "oral story telling" and the legends and Irish tales that are an essential part of Ireland's culture.
